Grass and Rocks, rocks and sticks...

I love my children's constant gifts to me. Any sign of Spring and growth is so wonderful...
Grass from Brig...
"Aren't these beautiful Mom?" from Adael and Brig
If you only knew how big this vase is and how many rocks were never lucky enough to make it in...I have developed only a tiny portion of the skill of elimination.

eArTh eGg - DIY corn syrup paint {tutorial}

"Want to see my EARTH EGG Mom?" My "preschool" son painted his construction paper Easter egg like the Earth.

His preschool class painted with colored corn syrup. These egg paintings are almost dry, you can see the glossy look on the lower eggs with sparkles. When dry (as long as not applied too thick) the corn syrup is shiny and smooth, not sticky at all(drying time varies)! This is so simple and the colors are incredibly bold, and resemble stained glass! You're not going to believe how easy it is.

Here's what you need for each color:

*1-2 Tablespoons of corn syrup

*4-8 drops of food coloring

*small containers (egg carton, mini cups)

(you can add a drop or 2 of water if too thick)

HAVE FUN PAINTING!

Can you guess...?

... What Russian artist and mural we are copying?

I am so lucky to help the 2nd graders of my daughter's school, create a collaborative mural(each kid painted their own square) I will keep you posted on the complete mural when all the pieces are together.

greeting card sneak peak!

Initially I wanted to "test the waters" with one card, but I couldn't/didn't want to narrow it down to one card. These aren't even the official proofs, but I thought I'd share. I'll let you know when they will be available! I am so excited!

Each card will be accompanied with a beautiful, recycled "brown bag" envelope. (Once again, I have taken these photos with my phone...I am becoming a phone camera expert, he he he)

A Living Palette

My son, baby girl and I stopped by the free science museum for a few minutes. There was only one small fish tank amongst the rest of displays. It happened to be salt water-
my favorite!

(these photos were taken with my phone, can you imagine how much better they could be with a good camera? wowa)

Finally this fish stopped swimming away from me!

light and fluffy...

... so vibrant!

From the sketchbook, possible candidates for new print images to be made for my "Without Age" series... sometimes it's just so relaxing to doodle with a pen and oil pastels.
